180 kW Solar Power System, IOCL, Kerala

PROJECT OVERVIEW

To enhance sustainability and reduce operational costs, IOCL turned to Krivi Energy for a 180 kW distributed rooftop solar system for their bottling plants in Kerala.

The project was designed to meet specific challenges posed by the coastal environment and unique requirements of the facility.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  1. Timely Completion
The installation was completed within just 30 days, ensuring minimal downtime for operations.
  2. Distributed Rooftop System
The 180 kW system was strategically installed across four locations within a single premises, optimizing energy generation and utilization.
  3. Customized Solar Structures
Specially designed solar mounting structures were used to prevent erosion and corrosion, ensuring durability and long-term performance in the coastal environment.
  4. High Wind Resistance
Considering Kerala’s vulnerability to high-speed winds and cyclones, the system was engineered to withstand wind speeds of up to 200 kmph, offering resilience against extreme weather conditions.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  1. Significant Cost Savings
The solar installation has enabled IOCL’s bottling plants to save substantially on energy costs, reducing dependence on conventional energy sources.
  2. Environmental Contribution
The system offsets approximately 270 metric tons of CO₂ emissions annually, supporting IOCL’s commitment to a sustainable and greener future.
  3. Employment Generation
The project created job opportunities in Kerala, contributing to local economic growth.

Through this project, IOCL demonstrates its leadership in adopting clean energy solutions, paving the way for sustainable industrial operations in India.
